"Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig"

The time has come!

Everyday we inch closer, and closer, and closer to Germany.  Will we ever actually GET there? Who could know? Who could even know. Living in Europe, (I'm sorry, I just like to say it) sounds glamorous, but there is so much to do to make it happen. Poor Steven is taking the brunt of that process. It seems like everyday he is told one thing about what needs to be done to finalize our travel plans, and then the next day--just before it's too late---he is told either the complete opposite, or an intensely more complicated version of the original directions. It is definitely stressful for him; I however remain completely unscathed. Which I often feel a little guilty about, but it will be over soon!

SO! October 29th we are DONE in Virginia. DONE. Goodbye VA! Good riddance!

I don't mean that. I will miss Virginia. I know that I have said a lot of terrible things about our particular area, especially Petersburg. Let's be honest......I meant every single word of it. But putting the Tri-cities area aside, Virginia is pretty lovely. I have never seen so many trees, or hills, or rivers, or lakes, or hawks, or history. We also found a really great church, and made some great friends. All in all, I really enjoyed it....and now I'm over it! Moving on!

On October 29th, we'll head back to Oklahoma for three weeks, (that's almost a month!). And then we get on plane, (really) and go to Germany.

Some of you, and you know who you are, might be asking yourself this:

"But Blayne, wont you be sad to be leaving all your friends and family, right before the holidays to go to totally different country where you know no one?"  Wow, thank you for putting that in to perspective for me. Yes, it will be bitter sweet for sure. We really love the holidays. Steven especially loves this time of year. But we think it's going to be a good thing. This will give us the unique opportunity to start our very own family traditions. Maybe we'll even pick up a few German ones!

Anyway, I just wanted to warn Oklahoma that we are on our way back to you! And we can't wait to see you! We cannot even wait!

  1. I'm soooooo excited :) Since you will be home for 3 weeks I'm thinking that you can at least squeeze me in for two meals--I'll even take a breakfast!

  2. i love reading about your adventure! cannot wait to see you!

  3. Seeing you will be great. I am so excited.
